Ingredients
- 1 cup white rice (short or medium grain works best)
- 2 cups water
- 2 cups milk
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon (plus extra for topping)
Instructions

Cook the Rice
In a pot, bring water to a boil.
Add rice, reduce heat, cover, and simmer until water is absorbed (about 15 minutes). -
Add Milk & Sugar
Stir in milk, sugar, and salt.
Cook over medium-low heat, stirring frequently, until thick and creamy (15–20 minutes). -
Finish It Off
Remove from heat.
Stir in butter, vanilla, and cinnamon. -
Serve
Serve warm with a sprinkle of cinnamon on top.
You can also chill it for a cold version.
