Steak Fajitas Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 2 pounds skirt, flank, sirloin, or hanger steak, sliced into ½ inch strips
  • 1 red pepper, deseeded and sliced into thin strips
  • 1 green or yellow pepper, deseeded and sliced into thin strips
  • 1 medium onion, peeled and sliced into thin strips
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Steak: Slice the steak into ½ inch strips and set aside.
  2. Prepare the Vegetables: Deseed and slice the red pepper, green/yellow pepper, and onion into thin strips.
  3. Heat the Oil: In a large skillet, heat 3 tablespoons of olive oil over medium-high heat.
  4. Cook the Steak: Add the steak strips to the skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes, or until browned and cooked to your desired level of doneness. Remove the steak from the skillet and set aside.
  5. Cook the Vegetables: In the same skillet, add the peppers and onions. Sauté for 5-6 minutes, or until they are soft and caramelized.
  6. Combine: Return the cooked steak back into the skillet with the vegetables. Stir everything together and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes to combine the flavors.
  7. Serve: Serve the fajitas in warm flour tortillas with your choice of toppings such as sour cream, salsa, guacamole, and cheese.
