A classic, hearty meatloaf made effortlessly in the slow cooker—tender, juicy, and topped with a sweet tangy ketchup glaze that everyone loves.

Ingredients

  • 1½ pounds ground beef
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • ½ cup milk
  • ½ cup finely chopped onion
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Glaze:

  • ¾ cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon mustard (optional)

Instructions

  1. Mix
    In a large bowl, combine:
    • Ground beef
    • Breadcrumbs
    • Egg
    • Milk
    • Onion
    • Salt and pepper
    Mix gently until just combined.
  2. Shape
    Form the mixture into a loaf shape and place it into the slow cooker.
  3. Add Glaze
    Mix ketchup, brown sugar, and mustard.
    Pour and spread over the meatloaf.
  4. Cook
    Cover and cook:
    • LOW: 5–6 hours
    • HIGH: 3–4 hours
  5. Serve
    Let rest 5–10 minutes before slicing.
    Serve with mashed potatoes or vegetables.

Tips

  • Don’t overmix to keep it tender
  • Add garlic or herbs for extra flavor
  • Use a foil sling for easier removal
